So I was watching the news tonight (which I never ever do for good reasons) and I caught something that disturbed me. Okay, it didn’t really disturb me. It pissed me off! There is the group of people who claim to be Christians that are picketing at military bases. What are they saying you ask? Besides holding signs that says “God is punishing our troops”, “Thank God for 9-11″, and “God hates faqs” their main message is this…
God is punishing the United States by allowing our troops to be killed in Iraq for our tolerance of the gay and lesbian community.
Wow, I really could punch some of them idiots in the face! For one, the men and women who are protecting their rights to picket are dying and this is what they have to say! Secondly, “Thank God for 9-11″? Wow, that’s as stupid as saying “God allowed it to happen because there were gay people in the building.” No wonder “Christians” are known for what we’re against instead of being known for love with idiots like this running around.

Man, I thought I saw that on the news, but then I thought, “Nah, those signs don’t say what I think they’re saying.” Turns out they were.

Hey Brad, I use to go to C3, but now I am married to a solider. He is on his 6th year in the military and just returned from his 2nd tour in Iraq. I’ve had so many people comment like so many have died in Iraq. Average 2-3 die a day in Iraq, almost 4000 soliders have died since 2003, 115 people die each day in car crashes, 1700 die of smoking. God isn’t punishing soldiers. I’ve got video and pictures of my husbands friends that got baptized in Sadaam swimming pool before it was destroyed. People are finding God even in War. He’s showing Himself everywhere, not punishing but teaching people to rely on Him even in hardship and war. All you can do is pray for the “idiots” and the soliders.
My father served 2 tours of Nam and he told me he ran into this type of “S–T” when he got back and it drove a stake thru his heart. These are the same people who go to the funnerals and do the same. All we can do is hope they find them selves before it is too late.
On a more important note!! Please lets all pray for the local Camp Lejune marine who was killed while 8 months pregnant. This is a sad and distrubing to me since I grew up in Jacksonville. The killer tried to burn her body and the baby’s too. Soo sad to all mothers and fathers out there having your own child die before you pass.

Brad, it is deeply distressing that these meatheads are saying such crazy things. I had the pleasure of meeting some Army wives in Charleston, SC last year and what they live through in the face of tragedy and hardship every day is valliant. I was involved with treating them and their children to a day of fun and make overs while they met the actors on the tv series ARMY WIVES. These protesters don’t have a fraction of the integrity and courage that our military families have. I agree with Abs. Did they have a bowl of STUPIDfor breakfast?
