So for those of you that don’t know me very well (or at all), I used to spend A LOT of time on a bike. I raced bikes for a good 8 years and I’ve got to say I miss it. I loved everything from racing, to jumping, to just cruising around the neighborhood. Well not only does my heart miss it, my body misses it. Over the 6 years since I quit riding, I have completely lost the amazing shape I was in. Now I was never a muscle buff or anything but I was healthy and now….well, I’m tired after running to the mailbox!

So this coming Monday my new bike comes in and my butt is getting back in shape! Looking forward to getting back on two wheels!

Oh yeah, and the best news……..drum roll………..my wife is getting this one so we can ride together. So pumped to have a biker babe! A dream from my BMX days!

This is a story that came out of our church of an 11 year old girl. Once we heard it, we had to capture it. During the filming, I was even more blown away about what God was doing in this girl’s life.

Our house is slowing beginning to feel like OUR house. Here’s a few before and afters from the main living area/kitchen.

Are you upbeat or beat up?

It’s a simple question, but it will inform every interaction you have this week. Every project. Every meeting. It will show in each mark you make and detail you ignore. And both states of being are highly infectious for everyone around you.

If you’re upbeat, congratulations. Translate it into action. If you’re beat up, take a break. If you come back and you’re still bruised, go find somewhere else to put in your time.

Either way, do something today. Act. Move. Go.

Today when I heard this, I knew it needed to be in front of me constantly so I made probably the simplest wallpaper ever. Not sure even why I’m sharing it but I love the simplicity.

So today at 11:45, this officially became ours. Well, the banks but they’re letting us stay there!

I am so stoked at the place God has blessed us with. We started painting yesterday and we’ll be moving in Friday morning.

God is constantly teaching me out of my times when I blow it. Take yesterday for example. We are planning on closing our house next Wednesday so we’ve been packing and getting all ready. Yesterday our realtor calls and says there’s been a mistake. Basically somebody messed up filling in the lines and now we were expected to pay the closing costs.

So in my mind the car just came to a screeching stop. I don’t know about you but I don’t keep thousands of extra dollars laying around. What did I do?

Well my first reaction (which I’m not proud of) was to get pissed! Who could’ve overlooked that! That was my first reaction when a blessing hit it’s most recent speed bump. How do you handle speed bumps along the way? Especially when God is pouring out his blessings on you and all of a sudden one little snag comes up?

Eventually I got over being mad, and prayed about it, confessed that he’s God and not me, and moved along knowing he’s in control. I should’ve done that first but God showed me some cool stuff along the way. So how do you react when you’re driving along, hit a speed bump going 55, and slam your head in the ceiling?

I saw this over at matchstic and it got me thinking. A good brand identity should be timeless. Little updates can be good but if you look at your logo and think it’s lame after 6 months, it probably was never a good logo.

Way to go Coke!

Our promo for our new series was a huge group effort. God told Pastor Jeff a couple weeks ago to change directions with the series that’s coming up and we were more than excited to tackle this project.

Initial concept was mine but that’s about it. Patrick edited the crap our of it and ran camera. Preston added all the textures and color corrected. Thanks guys for busting tail!

It’s been a while since I actually blogged. Mostly because of the madness around me! It’s been crazy the past couple months with a lot going on but I wouldn’t trade it for anything! To catch everyone up, here’s a couple of things…

- Next week (August 12th at Lifepoint’s Worship Night) I’m going to be getting ordained along with Kevin McGeorge!
- August 28th we close on this bad boy

-We’re getting ready for a huge Fall this year at Lifepoint. Block Parties, big series, and the launch of Midtown!

So anyways, I’ve got a lot going on right now and I’m just trying to enjoy the ride God’s letting me ride! His blessings are blowing Jill and I away! I never thought at 24 I would be where I am today. Married to an amazing woman, apart of a move of God in one of the coolest cities anywhere, buying a house in that city, and becoming “a real pastor” all at the same time!
